The "Homes of the Month" chosen by a committee underneath the Chamber of Commerce supervision are 211 for the east side owned by Mary Beeman and 611 Chestnut owned by Mrs. Henry.
Warren and Donna Windsor returned after several days vacationing with Darrel and Pat Wentz at their Wind Dancer Ranch near Elbert, Colo. They were accompanied by Darrell and Joyce Albright of Pretty Prairie.
Lena Messerall had her daughter, Delores Fisher, come in from Thehany, Okla., Sept. 13. Her son, Bob Dover, from Oklahoma City, came in Thursday. They went to Greenville, Ill., for the Elkins Family reunion as Lean Messerall was an Elkins. She is from a family of 15 children and only three girls are living.

Turkeys are still in the news in downtown Peabody. Four of the young poults have been seen around Santa Fe Park and the area across from there.
The Gazette Bulletin was informed this week that they would soon be hearing "the pitter patter of little feet." When the editor recovered from the resulting faint, he was further informed that the little hoofies would belong to children attending a new business in downtown Peabody, the Okay Dokey Day Care Center. The day care center is being established by Jerry Howlett and Donna Miles in the apartment over J&J Printing, next door to the Gazette Bulletin.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hansen will be honored on their 50th anniversary on Sat., Sept. 11, with an open house from 2-4 p.m. at their home, 609 Poplar in Peabody.

The first deer sighted in this section for quite a while were seen this week by Mrs. Douglas Fisher.
Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Hansen returned home Saturday from a 3-week trip to northwest.
Carolyn and Freddie Johnson are ill at their home this week with tonsillitis.
Jimmy Johnson, Keith Gutherie, Marion Vantuyl, and Jerry Whisler returned home from Camp Pike.

Fredric Frank Waltie died at his home east of town last Thursday after an illness of 5 weeks with typhoid fever. He was 23 years, 7 months, and 3 days old. On August 21 of last year he was married at Lebo, Kansas, to Miss Daisy Bakker, who with a 3 month old baby daughter, survives him.
T.M. Potter and wife left Thursday for Ogden, Utah, for an outing.
S.P. McDonald left last week for a trip to Jamestown, New York City, Johntown, Pennsylvania, Indiana and other points.

The accommodations for visitors are not sufficient at our hotels for the large number of people we expect from abroad to attend our fair. If any of our citizens can accommodate boarders, especially lodgers, at that time, they should at once notify the committee, James Collins or D.D. Perry, also state price for such accommodations.
W.D. Butler is building a granary on his farm.
Ed Davison is trying to be sick but we hope he will utterly fail at it.
Mrs. Calbeck is making mattresses from the fleeces of their sheep.
Mrs. Wm. Bauslin has 10 canarry birds.
