Jim and Kathy Holm of Wichita proudly announce the birth of their daughter, Carly Diane. Carly has a two-year-old sister, Bailey.

James Whitefield and Wendall Craighead were guests of Joan Berns July 16. They are filming the prairie for a new video featuring the Osage and Pawnee Indians.

Dennis Fisher of Denton, Texas, a former boy from Peabody and son of Doug and Betty Fisher of Haven is a professor of music for the bands of North Texas University. Emily Fisher Makela, daughter of the Fishers, has joined the U.S. Navy Band and is harpist.

Twenty-one 4-Hers from Marion County and neighboring counties participated in the Marion County 4-H Horse Fun Show on June 5. Judge of the show was Jeff Mellott of August, formerly of Peabody.

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Truax and daughters, Mary Lynn and Susie, left Wednesday morning for Des Moines, Iowa, and later Montreal, Wis. Jim will be in Wheaton, Ill., for a time attending an international conference on "Christian Response to Human Need."

Tom and Terri Ruck have taken over management of the Dari Creme. They have leased the Dari Creme from Doc and Mary Stovall.

John DeForest left Monday for Cleveland, Ohio, to attend the American Poultry and Hatchery Federation Convention.

Mrs. Florence Slaymaker is on vacation this week from her duties at Dr. Wood's office.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Huguenin were at Boulder, Colo., for a couple of weeks where they had gone to take radon gas treatments at an uranium mine for arthritis.

Lillie Honeyfield, living west of town, has been quite ill.

Lloyd Bowers is at home from Olathe where he has been attending a school for deaf mutes. He has always been a good student and this year he has made a better record than ever.

Miss Gertrude Cooper came home from the state university at Lawrence.

Miss Anna Jones, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. W.H. Morgan, during the past school year, and attending the Peabody schools, returned to her home in Osage City, yesterday.

R.F. Lilley had a bad hurt, some 10 days ago, by having a harrow tooth run through his foot while in the act of turning a corner in his field.
