The old water storage reservoir under the Peabody city water tower was "rediscovered" last week by city water department superintendent Bill Richmond and city officials are now pondering what to do about the large underground tank. The tank was lined with beautifully laid brick and its dimensions are 12 feet in diameter and 50 feet deep. There are metal steps leading down to a platform about 20 feet or so below the top.

On Monday evening a charming entertainment was given by pupils of the first seven grades. The first part was a cantata, "A Day in Flowerdom," which was presented by the first five grades. It was a very pretty piece with good music and little folks dressed to represent the flowers and trees. The roses, forget-me-nots, sweet peas, daisies, chrysanthemums, dandelions, sunflowers, pansies, blue bells, lilies, lilacs, and trees were all there in their gorgeous beauty and even the queen of flowerdom and the little cricket that lives among the flowers. It was a brilliant scene.
And now it is the rabbits that are after the crops. Farmers say they never were so numerous as at present.

The pink social at the Presbyterian church last night was a success, not withstanding the inclement weather. The attendance was fair, the decorations tasty and a general good time was had. The music, furnished by the Profs. Crosier and Moran, was very fine. Mr. Moran is the finest piano player ever in this city. His execution is simply wonderful. Mr. Crosier sung a song, "Say not adieu," in most excellent voice, and with fine effect.
