Orlene Scrivner was a Sunday dinner guest of Karlton Riffel, her great-grandson, to help him celebrate his first birthday at the home of his parents, Beth and James Riffel at Durham.
Mr. and Mrs. Erwin E. Pereboom of Enid, Okla., will be celebrating their 60th anniversary May 10 at the home of Dr. Robert and Karen Etherington. He was a former Peabody co-op manager.
Stan and Charla Ammeter visited LaVonne Sunday evening and Doug Gillet visited in the afternoon.

Funeral services were held Tuesday for Mrs. Allen (Edna) White, 71, who died Saturday, April 10 at the Axtell Christina Hospital in Newton.
Dance routines by six young girls entertained the senior citizens Monday afternoon after fellowship meals. Six students of Mary Ann Kohls presented three numbers. Youngsters in the troupe are Mandy Avery, Denae Pickens, Lynn Balthrop, Jennifer Gaines, Amy Richmond, and Tish Saenz.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Woodruff of Peabody announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Lani, to David L. Rickard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Rickard, East Lake, Colo.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Fickertt were hosts at the Marion County Press Association meeting held at Kingfisher's Inn Saturday evening. The group enjoyed a chicken dinner.
Sunday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Anderson gave a birthday party for their daughter, Shelene, honoring her sixth birthday.
Wives of Kiwanians attending spring conference Monday were entertained at a tea at the Presbyterian church. In charge were Mrs. Owen McNeil, Mrs. Earl Fickertt, and Mrs. W.V. Krause. Richard DeForest sang, "Oh, What a Beautiful Morning" and "The Easter Parade."

Part of the members of the sixth grade and their teacher, Miss Maybelle Roberts, went fishing down at the mill dam last Saturday. They walked down the track, and the exercise and morning air made them hungry as hunters, and fortunately, they had plenty of provinder along. They didn't do much damage to the finny tribe, but they had a jolly good time and finished the day by having their picture taken. The children who enjoyed the outing were Mildred Westbrook, Mildred Hammond, Fay House, Grace Roberts, Pearl Miller, Hazel Waggoner, Ruth Morris, Mildred Zirkle, Loren Johnson, Harold Brindley, Charlie Slaymaker, and A.J. Stovall.
The ice plant is making two or three tons of ice daily.
Eugene Darrow had his entire crop of wheat ruined by the green bug.
