This is the final issue of the Gazette-Bulletin to be published under the hands of Shirley B. and William V. Krause. The newspaper has been sold, as reported earlier, to Gary and Lou Ann Bowlin.

Luke Jones of Peabody was the victim of car thieves last week for the second time in a couple of years, and maybe the same thieves.

The Peabody Historical Society is bringing in Courtney Swann, architect with the Kansas State Historical Society, to Peabody on April 2. A public meeting will be held in the Ann Potter Room of the Carnegie Library at 7 p.m. Anyone with questions concerning the designation of the entire downtown as a National Historic District is invited to attend.

The resignation of Superintendent Norris Wika was made last Wednesday night to the school board. He will assume superintendency of the Wamego school district.

Gasoline prices dropped to under $1 "in the city" last week and the world gas glut is continuing.

History Club met last Friday at the home of Mrs. Willard Jewell of Peabody. Mrs. N.R. Stockebrand and Mrs. Nelson Poe were assisting hostesses.

Nancy Mustoe has been chosen from Peabody High School to be one of 300 Kansas high school students taking a week long educational tour in Washington, D.C., New York City, and other points of interest in the east during the week of April 7-13.

Mr. and Mrs. Warren Windsor entertained at a buffet dinner Saturday evening feting Miss Sharon Tucker.

Mrs. Harold Bentz had a party for her daughter, Patty, Monday evening in honor of her 10th birthday.
