Washington's birthday was observed by the schools, the band, and post office. The town was very dull all day and trade light. The meetings of the Baptist church continue with growing interest. The general mass meeting Sunday afternoon was one of the most effective services ever held in the church. Sunday night the Methodist people dismissed their services to come and enlarged the congregation to "overflowing." Rev. Hanson's sermon that night is reported as powerfully enthralling. His discourse Monday night, "The Little Hero," was a masterly presentation of gospel truths. Three climax meetings are arranged for through the week.

About 40 neighbors and friends gave T.P. Teeters and wife a farewell surprise party Tuesday evening, the 19th. They took oysters with them and proceeded to have a good time. Mr. Teeters and family are moving to Oklahoma this week, much to the regret of their friends.
