With the cold weather continuing, an ice skating rink is being made on the practice field south of the Brown gym this week. If the weather remains cold this week the rink may be ready for skating either Friday or Saturday evening.
Fred Burdorf took a high dive ff the top of his silo last week but emerged miraculously uninjured. He had climbed to the top of the almost empty structure to see if he could see his cattle. When he started to descend, he slipped and fell about 35 feet, landing on the silage. The feed so cushioned his fall that he was hardly shaken up.

Died, suddenly, in this place on Thursday, the 25th, of disease of the heart, Mrs. Kate, wife of Dr. A.N. Morey, in the 20th year of her life. "Katie," as she was familiarly called by everyone was among the very first settlers of Peabody, having immigrated to this point with her stepfather, Mr. F.H. Hopkins, about 11 years ago. Just 80 days prior to her death she was married to Dr. Morey and two happier souls, perhaps, never trod the way of life together than did these two during this brief period.
Monday night a jolly party was out sleighing and the way the bells jingled and the party sang reminded us of Maine, Wisconsin, or the North Pole.
