Date changes for benefit auction

Kristen Hooper, Peabody Main Street director, has announced the date for the Main Street benefit auction has been moved to March 10 from the previously scheduled date, Feb. 24 .

"We ran into a conflict with one of the organizers and needed to find a different date," she said.

The auction will still be held at the American Legion Hall downtown.

"We have already had a couple of donations," said Hooper. "Shortly after Christmas Lisa Clark brought in some wonderful photos she took.

"We've gotten some postcards and the promise of some advertising memorabilia as well."

Hooper encouraged people to begin thinking about their donations.

"They tell me that vintage advertising and memorabilia items, pictures, yearbooks, anything from Peabody's past sells well," said Hooper. "Since this is my first benefit auction I am anxious to see what the community comes up with."

Items can be delivered to the city building or donors may arrange to have the items picked up by calling Hooper's office at 983-2174.
