Darwin Voth

Darwin Voth, 63, died Jan. 23, 2003, at Newton Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 11, 1939, to Nelson Leslie and Berneil (Corfman) Voth in Newton. They preceded him in death. He married Rebecca Lyon May 18, 1962.

He was a member of Garden Mennonite Church, rural Hesston. He was a crew chief at AGCO/Hesston Corporation in Hesston, retiring March 4, 2002, after 38 years.

He enjoyed restoring old cars and collecting HotWheels cars, traveling, and spending time with his wife, kids, and grandchildren, and doing yard work, He was especially proud of his well-manicured lawn. He recently started working on a local farm, which he enjoyed.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca; a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Scot Bateman of Olathe; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Keisha Voth of Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Karen Saner and husband Stan of Burns, and Kathy Balzer and husband Mike of Whitewater; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Jan. 27, 2003, at the First Church of the Nazarene in Newton.

A memorial fund was established with M.D. Anderson Cancer Research Center.
