Dan Whiteside
Don E. Whiteside, 81, died Oct. 13, 2002, at Potwin. The son of Ulysses Grant and Mary Berkinbine Whiteside, he was born Sept. 8, 1921, at Potwin.
He was married Feb. 1, 1947, to Betty Thomas at Oil Hill. She survives.
A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Potwin Christian Church, William P. Phillips American Legion Post No. 65, Whitewater, and the VFW Post at El Dorado.
Other survivors are a son Dan Whiteside of Potwin, a daughter Sue Yarbough of Fort Worth, Texas, a sister Pauline Harms, Whitewater, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Potwin Christian Church with Rick McNary officiating.
Interment will be in Walnut Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, El Dorado.
Memorials have been established in his name at Potwin Christian Church and Hospice of Kansas at El Dorado.
