Cross country teams place second, fourth

The Peabody-Burns cross country team made an impressive showing Thursday at Marion County Lake.
Paced by Andrew Topham's second place finish, the boys' team placed second overall and received a plaque. The girls' team had three top 20 runners and placed fourth overall.
Six PBHS runners received medals for their efforts. Topham took second with a time of 16:47. Duane Unruh placed 17th in the varsity 5K. Maximilian Stralka finished ninth for the junior varsity.
Tiana McGee once again paced the girls' squad with a second place finish in the two-mile varsity run. McGee's time was 12:44. Kate Topham came in fourth and Ashley Elliott took 15th.
Eleven schools participated in the meet with 67 runners in the boys' bracket and 82 on the girls' side.
Next up for the squad is a trip to Harvey County East Lake.
