Cross country team earns title at Hutchinson

A league championship was earned Thursday by the girls on the Warrior cross country team. Running in Carey Park in Hutchinson, the runners were led once again by freshman standout Ashley Elliott. Elliott placed first, finishing the two mile course in 12:42. Elliott placed first in all but two meets this season.
The team now prepares for state competition.
Other top finishers include Kate Topham, fourth; Alyssa Carter, fifth; and Jana Windsor, seventh. Two other Lady Warriors, Casey Berger and Ashlee Burnett, also ran the course.
Three Warrior runners, Nicholas Whitney, Jesse Riggs, and Jeremy Berger, also participated
The cross country team is coached by Tony Zappone.
