Cross country squad wraps up season
Girls' squad finishes seventh, boys come in 10th

Peabody-Burns High School cross country teams wrapped up the season Saturday at the 2A state cross country meet at Wamego Country Club.
The girls' squad finished seventh while the boys came in 10th.
Andrew Topham medaled for the boys' squad finishing eighth in the 5K run with a time of 17:32.
Duane Unruh finished 63rd, Jacob Wolf 76th, Maximilian Stralka 80th, Christian Bengtsson 84th, Nicholas Whitney 94th, and Jesse Riggs 100th.
Tiana McGee earned an 18th place medal in the two-mile run finishing at 13:40, Kate Topham 32nd and Ashley Elliott 37th.
Alyssa Carter placed 69th, Stephanie Vetter 87th, Samantha Pickens 94th, and Anna Zappone 98th.
"Both of the teams have done a great job this season," said coach Tony Zappone. "Qualifying to run at the state championship is an accomplishment in itself. I'm very proud of their performance."
