Cross country runs at Harvey County East

Peabody-Burns High School cross country team traveled Thursday to run in the Berean Academy meet.
The boys' team took fifth and the girls' team finished eighth.
Andrew Topham continued to lead the boys' team with a first-place finish in the first-man 5K race, with a time of 16 minutes, 18 seconds.
Four other Warriors won medals. Jacob Wolf finished fifth in the second-man race at 19:04. Duane Unruh came in fourth in the third-man with a time of 18:17. Robert Rossberg (seventh, fourth-man), and Ryan Wiebe (sixth, fifth-man), were the final boys' finishers.
On the girls' side Alyssa Carter finished the two-mile race with a time of 14:11. Other runners were Jennifer Schmeling (15:01), Ashley Elliott (15:30), Jacqueline Benjamin (17:56), Samantha Pickens (21:37), and Erica Frederick (21:40).
Runners in the 5K junior varsity were Kendall Wiebe (20:08), Jesse Riggs (21:50), Ethan Riggs (22:27), Seth Methvin (23:27), Dane Lau (24:54), and Joe Zappone (26:37).
The Warriors will run Thursday at the Chapman meet.
