Cross country finishes season at state

Peabody-Burns High School cross country team claimed two medals Saturday at the 2A state cross country meet at Wamego.
Freshman Lauren Pickens was the top Warrior finisher after she was 17th in the 4K run with a time of 17 minutes, 21 seconds.
Aaron Topham of the boys' team grabbed the final medal after a 20th-place finish and 5K time of 18:33.
As a team the boys were fifth.
Duane Unruh was the next finisher at 22nd place with a time of 18:36.
Kendall Wiebe was 50th (19:19) and Ryan Wiebe was one behind with a time of 19:22.
Sheldon Wiebe was 13 seconds behind in 55th, Josh Klarmann at 19:38 took 56th, and Seth Methvin was 84th after a time of 21:10.
