Criminal cases

The following information has been filed in the Criminal Division of Marion County District Court:

Michael L. Ables, charged with giving worthless check; state requests matter dismissed, costs and restitution paid in full.

Justin Bowley, charged with battery; defendant appears with attorney, state requests matter dismissed, victim left area, costs assessed to state.

Kent Rich, sentencing at 2 p.m. Dec. 6.

Rick L. Keough, arraignment at 9:45 a.m. Dec. 14.

Melissa Bashaw, charged with giving worthless check; bond converted to fines, penalties, and forfeitures.

John Collier, charged with purchase/consumption of alcohol by minor; judgment on plea of guilty or nolo contendre, abstract of conviction mailed to Department of Motor Vehicles.

Curtis Hancock, charged with possession of hallucinogenic; state requests matter dismissed, cost assessed to state.

Keith R. Schick, charged with sale of hallucinogenic, no tax stamp, and obstruction of legal process; count one dismissed, journal entry of judgment for count two and three, defendant sentenced to six months with secretary of correction for count two and six months with Marion County Sheriff's Office for count three, immediate supervised probation for 12 months with court service officer, complete 100 hours community service work, not possess or consume alcohol or drugs, submit to bb/u testing, gain and maintain employment, submit to DNA, obtain drug/alcohol evaluation at own expense, serve 48 hours in county jail for every positive drug/alcohol test/refusal/failure/ admission, pay costs and fees of $1,102 which is suspended as long as defendant is enrolled in one semester consisting of 15 hours and successfully completes with C average.
