County emergency medical services releases monthly statistics
Ambulance runs for the month of July were slightly higher than the previous month.
During July, there were 83 ambulance runs. Marion had 32, Hillsboro 24, Peabody 14, Florence, nine, and Tampa four.
There were five first response runs for Durham and three for Lincolnville. Rescue trucks were not called.
Of those calls, 23 were medical emergencies, 13 no transport, 12 transfers, 10 cardiac, nine falls, six each standby and ambulance called back, and two each motor vehicle accidents and other.
So far this year, there have been a total of 581 ambulance calls with medical emergencies, 112 no transports, 83 transfers, 57 falls, 53 standby, 44 cardiac, 32 motor vehicle accidents, 13 other, and nine ambulance called back.
During the month of July, a county EMT class was completed with students taking the final tests, a first-aid and CPR class was taught at Marion Manufacturing, Marion; and Goessel first response was on-call during Goessel Threshing Days.
Upcoming projects are first aid/CPR classes for Centre school bus drivers and Golden Heritage Foods employees; training class for weapons of mass destruction in Alabama; emergency preparedness exercise; garage door key pad at Peabody ambulance barn; and Hillsboro ambulance crew on-call at Marion County Fair.
