Conway Davis
Conway Max Davis, 79, of Walton, died Feb. 4, 2005.
Born June 30, 1925, at Walton, he was the son of Conway "Connie" and Gladys (Bartholomew) Davis.
On Sept. 30, 1945, he married Marjorie Lee Bahr. She died in 1985.
On Nov. 27, 1987, he married Cara Lou Hicks.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1945. After the war he opened two filling stations in Newton. He later moved to Walton and ran a Standard Heating Oil franchise business. He sold auto parts and was store manager for Royston Inc. and Jarvis Auto Supply in Newton.
Survivors include his wife, Cara Lou of Walton; a son, Dean Davis of Newton; daughter, Claudette Esau of Walton; brother, John Davis of Wichita; sister, Oreta Kirkendall of Kerrville, Texas; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at Walton United Methodist Church with the Revs. Tim Young and Bob Sample officiating.
Burial was in Walton Cemetery.
Memorial funds have been established with Walton Historical Society and Walton United Methodist Church.
