Connie Bowen wins $1000 in Powerball game years ago
Connie Bowen of Peabody brought home $1,000 in prize money from the Powerball Instant Millionaire Game Show Saturday for being a contestant on the telecast from Las Vegas.
Bowen earned the trip to Las Vegas and the chance to win $1 million on the Powerball Instant Millionaire Game show after entering the Kansas Lottery's second-chance drawing.
"This was our first trip to Vegas," Bowen said. "The hotel room was a highlight. We had a great time and did a lot of walking to see the sights."
Bowen is a certified medical aide at a Peabody nursing home. Her husband, Phil, accompanied her on the trip to Vegas. They have four grown children and 13 grandchildren.
When asked if she had any plans for her prize money, Bowen said she and her husband would like to travel to Germany.
"Our son is in the military and it would be wonderful to see him and our three grandchildren over there," she said.
