Congressman s wife to speak to group
Robba Moran, wife of Congressman Jerry Moran of Hays, will share the personal side of life as the wife of a United States Congressman at the opening session of the 60+ Learning in Retirement Program Monday.
Her presentation title is "From Duke University to Western Kansas." A question and answer time will be provided.
The session will begin at 10 a.m. in the Wohlgemuth Music Education Center located on Tabor College campus.
Moran has served as a volunteer in the Hays school district as a member of the Parents as Teachers Advisory Board, Parent Advisory Council Coalition, Hays Pregnancy Council, and the Hays Arts Council board of directors. She also has served as chairman of the Kids Voting Kansas task force in Hays.
Currently, Moran is working as a piano accompanist for the Hays High School vocal music department. She also is a member of the Hays Medical Center board of directors and president of the Kansas State Fair board of directors.
Moran, born and raised in Independence, Mo., has a degree in business administration from William Jewell College and a degree in law from Duke University. She met her husband Jerry while practicing corporate law in Kansas City.
The Morans have two teenage daughters.
Older adults are invited to attend the program. Enrollment is $15 per person a semester, $28 per couple, or $4 a session. First-time visitors will be admitted free of charge. Registration and discount lunch cards will be available at the door.
