College concert band to tour Nebraska, South Dakota

Tabor College Concert Band, under the direction of Dr. Richard Cantwell, professor of instrumental music and chair of the music department, will begin its annual spring tour April 21. The tour will conclude April 24.

The Trombone/Low Brass Choir also will travel with the band and perform selections at each venue.

Repertoire will include traditional symphonic band literature, marches, and contemporary arrangements of traditional hymns.

Soloists featured this year are two music majors, junior Angie Buller of Ingalls, flute, and sophomore Elise Penrose of Bakersfield, Calif., who will sing soprano. Both students will be accompanied by the ensembles.

"The ensembles consist of students from a variety of academic disciplines that enjoy playing and performing," said Cantwell.

The tour will include a variety of performance venues, including school concerts and worship gatherings.

The schedule is as follows:

— Emmanuel Mennonite Church, Meade, 7 p.m. April 21.

— Grant Evangelical Free Church, Grant, Neb., 7 p.m. April 22.

— New Life Fellowship Church, Grant, Neb., 9 a.m., April 23.

— Bible Fellowship Church, Rapid City, S.D., 7 p.m., April 23.

— Rapid City Christian High School, Rapid City, S.D., 7:50 a.m. April 24.

The public is invited to attend all performances.
