Clark celebrates birthday

Tom and Lisa Clark hosted a birthday cookout Saturday evening for Tom's mother, Norma Clark. It was a lovely evening with good food and lots of visiting.

Those attending were Norma and Virgil Clark, Josh Clark, Elaina Clark and Danielle and boys of Ellinwood, Brian and Lisa McDowell, Alex and Rylie of Peabody, Karen and Jack Hamilton and Alice Wilbur of El Dorado, Charlie Clark of Illinois, Kay Gregory of Matfield Green, Melissa White and Lizzie of Olathe, Gail and Phil Topham of Newton, and Maude Gaines, LaVonne Ammeter, Kathleen Brenzikofer, and Sherry and Marvin Nightengale.

Laura Atwater of Emporia visited LaVonne Monday afternoon. LaVonne visited with Ron and Donella Humphries at the cemetery later in the afternoon.

Maude Gaines and LaVonne ate lunch Tuesday at the Peabody Senior Center and quilted in the afternoon. Josh Clark was a Tuesday visitor and Stan Ammeter was a supper guest.

LaVonne attended Mary Ann Madsen's funeral Wednesday morning at the Christian church in Peabody. Our sympathy and prayers go to Earl and his family.

Ladies Aid met at LaVonne's Wednesday afternoon. Those quilting were LaVonne, Maude, Leona, and Dorene.

Maude Gaines and LaVonne went to Esther Highfill's sale Thursday evening.

Lisa Clark visited LaVonne Wednesday and Friday evenings. They decorated Norma Clark's birthday cake.

LaVonne babysat little Hadlye Clark Friday evening. Joyce Kyle was a visitor and a helpful baby sitter.

Lois Sayers visited LaVonne late Friday afternoon. Ty Frederickson and John Boese stopped by later in the evening.

Gene Obee and Roseva McLinden picked up LaVonne Sunday after church and went to Newton to Bob and Kathy Ireland's for lunch. They went to visit with Chris Melson of Calude, Texas, and his daughter, Dana Melson of Olive Branch, Miss. Other guests were Jack and Carolyn Metz of Wichita.

Maude Gaines attended the Gaines reunion Sunday at the Peabody Senior Center. Later in the afternoon she visited Ike and Marie Clark and LaVonne Ammeter.

LaVonne visited with Fred Uphoff of Belleville and granddaughter Katie from Hebron, Neb. Sunday evening at the Summit Church. Freddie grew up in the Summit community. We had received word that his dad Albert (Red) Uphoff of Hutchinson died last week. We extend prayers and sympathy to the family.
