Church closing is sad time for members

Bennie Holtsclaw and Lisa Stopple presented the Christmas program Dec. 28 at Wonsevu Christian Church.
Pastor Clint Stopple's message was taken from St. John 10:1-21, "Christ as the Good Shepherd."
Following the message, gifts were given out. A potluck dinner followed the gift exchange.
It was a sad day for us since it was the closing of the Wonsevu church. It's always hard changing churches.
We extend our get well wishes to Harold Goodwin in St. Francis hospital in Wichita and wish him a speedy recovery.
We extend our sympathy to the family of Junior Dawson. He was our mail carrier for a number of years. He was a very nice mail man.
We extend our sympathy to the family of Francis Towle, also a very nice man. Both men will be missed.
Christmas Day dinner guests of Roy and Bev Reynolds were Kathy and Floyd Dowell of Leon and Danin Reynolds of Wichita. They helped Bev's dad Orval Goodwin celebrate his 91st birthday. Congratulations Orval. We wish you many more.
Alan Reynolds and Kelley of Winfield were Dec. 23 guests of Roy and Bev Reynolds.
Bev Reynolds spent Dec. 27 and part of Dec. 28 with Kathy and Floyd Dowell of Leon. While there, Bev and Kathy went to see a movie in Wichita. After the movie they visited a bookstore where they ate lunch. Alan Reynolds and Kelley joined them for lunch there. Then Kathy and Bev returned to Leon and Alan and Kelley returned to Winfield.
Teresa and Kevin Hill, Nellie, Heath, and Cassidy of Marion were Christmas Day dinner and supper guests of Hazel Clothier, Teresa's mother.
Hazel visited Mr. and Mrs. Larry Blosser of Florence one day last week.
Denise Lang and Margaret Morgan of Burns called on Margie Williams Dec. 23 and had coffee.
Christmas Day guests of John and Denise Lang, Johnny and Jaimie were Jessica Lang and Dusty Maddox of Cottonwood Falls.
Amy Mitchell was a Dec. 26 overnight guest of Jaimie Lang. The next night Jaimie was an overnight guest of Amy's.
Denise Lang and Jaimie and Patti Mitchell and Amy went to Emporia Dec. 27.
