Christmas open house planned at Bob Priest home
Marion County Lake families and friends are invited to attend an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 19 at the home of Judy and Bob Priest, 26 Lakeshore Drive.
The Priests, along with Chat and Dine members, planned the second annual Christmas Fest for all current and former "laker" neighbors to enjoy music, art, visiting, and Christmas goodies.
Entering the Priests' home, visitors will be impressed with the lake view, carefully crafted cabinetry, a bath decor of African artifacts, the couple's love of music, and their extensive collection of watercolors and oils by Howard Bish.
Bish, Judy Priest's father, was a printer by trade who left a prolific collection of creative works with brushes and paint. His lifelong devotion to visual art included landscapes, still life, and portraits. One portrait, appropriate for the season, features Jesus as a boy.
A car caravan will leave Kingfisher's Inn parking lot at 6 p.m. to cruise Lakeshore and the residential roads to view Christmas lights and decorations. Participants are invited to return to the Priest home to warm up with hot cider or coffee.
