Chester Porter
Chester A. Porter, 88, formerly of El Dorado and Peabody, died Jan. 22, 2004, at Springfield, Mo.
Born Jan. 14, 1916, in Peabody, he was the son of Clyde and Carrie Porter.
He was a veteran of World War II and a retired locomotive engineer with Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include his wife, Avis Porter of Springfield, Mo.; three sons, John Porter of El Dorado, Chester Porter of Malvern, Ark., and Richard Hasenfratz of Colorado; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Tuesday afternoon at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
