Charges to be filed in local theft

Charges are expected to be filed in a case involving a stolen vehicle.

The Peabody Police Department has been working with the Newton Police department on an incident involving a stolen vehicle.

The investigation includes charges of theft of cash and credit cards in Peabody. Both incidents are related to the same person and charges will be filed locally as well as in Harvey County.

Several other burglaries, attempted burglaries, and the burning of the school suburbans are still under investigation, according to Peabody Police Chief Jeff Pohlman.

He asked that anyone with knowledge of the incidents or anyone who might know something related to either crime contact the police department.

In an unrelated matter, Pohlman and Jeff Soyez of the Marion County Sheriff's office will present a program Oct. 29 for Peabody senior citizens regarding drug abuse in Marion County. The program will be held at the senior center.

Also, Chief Pohlman reported that a non-injury accident occurred at Third and Olive streets Oct. 21. Vehicles driven by Pam Carter and Temperance Scott received only minor damage.
