Chamber appoints brochure committee
A committee will make decisions regarding an economic development brochure to promote Florence businesses.
The decision was made during the March 3 Florence Chamber of Commerce noon luncheon meeting.
Committee members are Sarah Cope, Ben Brunson, Judy Mills, Kathleen Ludwig, and Darla Gore. They will recommend styles for the brochure and cost options at the next meeting.
Mary Jane Grimmett will be responsible for designing a new business and community brochure to distribute in welcome wagon baskets and at the city building for newcomers to town.
Ben Brunson was the "get to know your member" this month. Brunson, 40, is a graduate of Kansas University with a business and finance degree. Brunson said he came to Florence to visit a friend, Bryan Harper, a year ago and ended up staying here. He has been manger of Johnson's General Store for nearly a year. He has a 10-year-old daughter.
Hawkeye Truck Service will be the featured member next month.
Members decided the Easter Bunny will visit Florence children at 10:30 a.m. April 10 during the annual Easter egg hunt in Grandview Park. Donations will be accepted for prizes to be placed in eggs. Toni Fletcher is committee chairman for the event.
