Cedar Community Church has new pastor

Wonsevu Christian Church postponed its church services for this Sunday.
Congratulations to the Cedar Community Church and their new pastor Eldon Cox and wife Gail.
Hazel Clothier met Joyce Hett of Marion Sunday at The Chuckwagon in Florence for lunch. That morning Hazel had traveled to Cassody to see all the motorcycles that had gathered.
Gary Williams and Terry Stienbacher of Wichita picked apples Sunday at Hazel's.
Connor and Robin Grokett of Cottonwood Falls were Friday overnight guests of Johnny and Jaimie Lang. Amy Mitchell was a Saturday overnight guest of Jaimie's.
Denise Lang, Johnny and Jaimie and Amy Mitchell attended 4-H Sunday at the Florence United Methodist Church.
Happy birthday greetings are extended to Patti Mitchell. Her birthday is this week and we wish her many more.
Gary Williams and Terry Stiebacher were Saturday dinner guests of Bill and Margie Williams. Sunday dinner guests were Gary, Terry, and grandson Carl Williams of Manhattan.
Bill and Margie Williams attended a cookout Wednesday evening at the home of Will and Gayla Soyez, Elliot and Samantha of Florence. All celebrated Samantha's 12th birthday. Also attending were Dolly Soyez, Mary Turner, Kattie, Sarah, and Megan, and Frank Soyez. We wish Samantha a happy birthday and many more.
Bev Reynolds attended the Scottish Festival Saturday in McPherson. She met Kathy Dowell and Kelley Reynolds there. Kelley returned home with Bev.
Roy and Bev Reynolds took Kelley to Floyd and Kathy Dowell's home Sunday in Leon to meet Kelley's dad Allan Reynolds of Winfield. Kelley returned home with him. Roy and Bev visited with them for awhile before returning home.

Pastor Clint Stopple was unable to attend church Sunday morning. Sam Griffin led the worship service.

Ladies Aid met Thursday for an all day work meeting. Those attending were Denise Lang, Patti Mitchell, and Margaret Morgan.
We extend our sympathy to the family of Bill Strong. He lived in the Wonsevu area for many years before moving to Eureka. He will be missed.
Several friends helped Denise Lang celebrate her birthday Wednesday at the restaurant in Burns. Those present were Jean Everett, Hazel Clothier, Margaret Morgan, Doni Rogers, Denise and Margie Williams, and Patti Mitchell. Later, everyone went to Margaret Morgan's for cake and coffee.
Denise Lang and Jaimie went to Emporia Saturday to shop with Jessica Lang.
Thursday supper guests of Hazel Clothier were her daughter, Teresa, Kevin Hill, Nellie, Heath, and Cassidy of Marion. They had a good time picking apples while there.
Supper guests of Bill and Margie Williams Thursday were their grandchildren, Elliot and Samantha Soyez of Florence. Later that evening, Will and Gayla drove out. Elliot and Samantha returned home with them.
A Saturday and Sunday dinner guest of Bill and Margie Williams was their grandson Carl from Manhattan.
Hazel Clothier called on Margie Williams Saturday afternoon.
