Cardinal volleyball teams lay goose eggs against Warriors

Staff writer

Peabody-Burns Lady Warriors earned two league victories Tuesday at Sedgwick. They played the Cardinals of Ell-Saline and the Cardinals of Sedgwick in a quadrangular.

The Lady Warriors had little trouble defeating the Ell-Saline squad in the first match of the evening. The team enjoyed overall good teamwork with plenty of help from their serving.

Eve Benyusova served the final 10 points of the second game of the match. The Lady Warriors defeated the Ell-Saline Cardinals in two games, 15-3, and 15-5.

The second match proved tougher for the Lady Warriors. The first game was an easy win for the PBHS squad. The second game, however, was a battle.

The Lady Warriors started strong, but Sedgwick hung in for a long game and the team was defeated, 14-16.

The third game also was a tough one, but the Lady Warriors stayed in control most of the way. The team defeated Sedgwick in three games, 15-5, 14-16, and 15-7.

The squad travels next to Goessel.
