I was gone last weekend so I'll catch up last week's news first.

Blaine Ammeter of Ellinwood arrived at the farm last Tuesday evening to spend the night. He worked all day Wednesday fixing pasture fences. Stan came late afternoon to help and both were supper guests.

Ladies Aid met at LaVonne's Wednesday afternoon. Those quilting were Leona Widler, Dorene Kirkpatrick, Sherry Nightengale, and Maude Gaines.

Betty Kyle and LaVonne Ammeter attended Marjorie Endres funeral Thursday morning at the Catholic church in Marion. They ate lunch at the Town and Country Café in Florence.

Maude Gaines and LaVonne went to Newton last Thursday afternoon to the eye doctor. They were in Marion Friday afternoon to see the doctor and do some shopping. They ate lunch at Florence.

Melody and Steve Magette of Greensburg arrived at LaVonne's Friday evening to spend the night. They took off for Ellsworth Saturday morning to visit Kevin and Emily Haxton and Avery.

Steve Magette, Amanda and Bryan Kantack of Colorado Springs, and Eric and Kristin Magette of Salina all attended the K-State football game Saturday evening. Melody and LaVonne stayed with Emily and Avery.

We celebrated Avery's first birthday and Adam Magette's birthday on Sunday. Dinner guests of the Haxtons were Kristin and Eric Magette, Adam Magette and Crystal Ferris of Manhattan, Amanda and Bryan Kantack, Melody, Steve, and LaVonne. What a great day! Adam was surprised and Avery was the center of attention. Great-grandchildren truly are g-great! Labor Day was spent golfing and spoiling Avery. Steve and Melody brought LaVonne home Monday afternoon.

Ladies Aid met at LaVonne's Wednesday afternoon.

Betty Kyle picked up LaVonne Ammeter and Joyce Kyle Wednesday evening and they went to the Burns Community Building for the salad supper put on by the First Mennonite Church. Carrie Truax talked on their missionary work in Indonesia. It sure was interesting. The salads were delicious and there was good fellowship.

Thursday morning visitors of LaVonne were Carolyn Matz and friend Nelda Criman of Wichita. They came after a birthday cake for Carolyn's great-granddaughter Alexis.

Don Gillet visited LaVonne Thursday afternoon. Stan Ammeter visited later in the afternoon. Lisa Clark was an evening visitor.

LaVonne visited John and Michele Boese, Cloie, Eric, and Dillion Saturday evening. Cloie is getting along OK after her accident.

Ronnie and Patti Gaines were Saturday dinner guests of Maude Gaines. They put a new roof on her bathroom and utility room.

Stan Ammeter and Don Gillet were Sunday evening visitors of LaVonne.

Maude Gaines met Sally Matz, Bill and Marie Clark, and Gordon and Joan Clark of El Dorado in Peabody Thursday and all ate lunch at the Kitchen Korner.

Maude and LaVonne ate lunch Sunday at the Chuck Wagon in Florence. In the afternoon, they visited Elsie Tittle and Ike and Marie Clark.

Josh Clark visited LaVonne Tuesday morning.

We surely were thankful for the rain. I had seven inches. The weather this week has been so great.

Have a good week!
