Candidate forum planned
A candidate forum will be at 7 p.m. July 16 at USD 408 Performing Arts Center, Marion.
Republican candidates who are being challenged are invited to the event. Questions for candidates from constituents may be submitted at the Peabody Gazette-Bulletin office or at the forum.
They include Kansas Representative District 70 candidates Bob Brookens, Roger Hannaford, and Bill Spangler; Marion County Commission District #3 candidates Randy Dallke and Larry Larsen; and Marion County Sheriff candidates Lee Becker and Rob Craft.
The state representative and sheriff will be determined in the primary election Aug. 5. The winner of the commission district #3 race will face off with Democratic candidate Aaron Allen in the November election.
Sponsored by Hoch Publishing Co., publisher of the Marion County Record, Hillsboro Star-Journal, and Peabody Gazette-Bulletin, and Marion County Republican Party Central Committee, the event is planned to last 90 minutes to two hours.
