Callie Peterson wins roping contests
Callie Peterson, Marion, and a friend, Jennie Buckman, Council Grove, recently participated in two team-roping contests in Oklahoma.
Between the two of them, they earned $4,800 in awards.
On Oct. 25 at Guthrie, Okla., they took fifth place in a shoot-out roping contest and won $2,200.
On Oct. 26, they took eighth place in the Cruel Girl Roping contest at the national finals of United States Team-Roping Competition in Oklahoma City and won $2,600.
