Burns: Sewer leak prompts inspection by county sanitarian
Marion County Sanitarian Bobbi Strait reported July 10 to Burns City Council that she had inspected a residence regarding a sewer problem.
Sewer had drained in the property owner's yard. Strait recommended that the city give the property owners 24 hours and then have a police officer deliver a shut-off notice. With the utilities shut off, no one can live at the residence.
The council approved Strait's recommendations. The owners have a week to clean up the sewage.
