Burns seniors enjoy potluck dinner

Burns Senior Citizens enjoyed a potluck dinner March 9 at the community building.

Those attending were Minamae Bierman, Beverly Morgan, Doni Rogers, Jandee Moore, Evelyn Sidener, Carl Riggs, Calvin and Esta Hall, Marie Clark, Maude Gaines, LaVonne Ammeter, Diane Nelson, Lowell Larsen, Albert Gustainis, Don and Laverna Parrish, Marion and Josette Cubbage, Kathleen Brenzikofer, James Olberding, Norma Martin, Gene Obee, and Joyce Kyle.

Birthdays were celebrated for LaVonne Ammeter, Maude Gaines, Josette Cubbage, and Doni Rogers.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. A treasurer's report was given. Beverly Morgan thanked everyone for the cards and prayers for her recovery from hip surgery. Kathleen Brenzikofer read an article, "True Love."

Marion County Historical Society toured the Burns Community Building and held a short business meeting in the senior citizens' exercise room. They commented on the lovely community building.

Marion and Josette Cubbage were hosts for the event. They shared a video," America's Railroads: Legacy of Steam Trains." It was informative and entertaining.

Esther Nelson will serve as hostess during the next meeting scheduled for noon April 13. Everyone is welcome to attend.
