Burns PRIDE committee to host evaluation team

Representatives from the Burns PRIDE committee will host a team of community development evaluators at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the city building. The committee will showcase the community's improvement projects and activities.

The visit is part of the statewide PRIDE program's initiative to evaluate participating communities' accomplishments and offer recommendations for further improvement to the program.

Top-rated communities will receive statewide recognition at the annual PRIDE Day later in the year and a monetary award of $500.

The evaluators will review the community development atmosphere, the development process, and the overall impact and accomplishments within the community.

"We encourage area residents to attend this meeting and learn more about the community's accomplishments and activities. Some residents may be surprised at what has been accomplished in Burns through the PRIDE program and area volunteers," said Mary Glenn, PRIDE chairman.
