Burns Methodist church to host annual supper, auction
Burns United Methodist Church will host its annual supper and auction bazaar Oct. 26 in Burns.
The supper will be served in the church's fellowship hall from 5 to 7 p.m. It will feature smoked beef brisket, turkey and dressing casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn or green beans. Jell-O salad, homemade rolls, pie, and coffee or tea. Free will donations will be accepted for the meal.
Several door prizes will be awarded during the supper hours.
A country store will offer craft items for sale during the meal.
This year's quilt will be on display in the church with the opportunity to purchase tickets for a drawing to win it. The handmade quilt was designed by Sandra Heyman and made by the women of the church. A floral theme is carried out in appliqué and embroidery using shades of tan, teal, rust, red, green, and blue.
The auction bazaar will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Burns Community Building. Several handmade items will be auctioned. The building will be open after 2 p.m. to receive items to be auctioned.
A drawing for the quilt will be at the conclusion of the auction.
Proceeds from the evening's activities will go to support programs of the church and the community.
