Burns High School classes hold class reunions for 1944, 1945 years ago
Alums share memories, stories of past high school days
Burns High School classes of 1944 and 1945 gathered May 28 at Areletta Koehn's in Burns for a reunion.
Class photos were taken and 20 graduates and spouses enjoyed lunch.
After the meal Evelyn Sidener welcomed the group and each member shared information about themselves and their families.
Prizes were given to 1944 class members Doris Guggisberg who traveled the furthest; Clarence and Edna Mae Bayes who had the most grandchildren; Wayne Ott who was the oldest man; Edna Mae Bayes, the oldest woman; Rex Frey, the youngest man; and Doris Guggisberg, the youngest woman.
Class prizes for the class of 1945 went to Brice Durbin who traveled the furthest; Silas and Edna Stucky, most grandchildren; Ralph Carlisle, oldest man; Esther Ott, oldest woman; James Olberding, youngest man; and Jean Knaussman, youngest woman.
Graduates and their spouses attending the reunion included Clyde and Virginia Waggy, Ralph Carlisle, Verda and Al Stoskoph, and Jean Knaussman, all of El Dorado. Edna Mae Bayes of Valley Center, Mary Belle Fogle of Wichita, Richard and Lucille Wyss of Florence, Joyce Kyle of rural Florence, Silas and Edna Stucky and Wayne and Esther Ott of Newton, Brice and Lois Durbin of Topeka, Wilmer and Martha Wedel of Elbing, Doris Guggisberg of Lawrence, Ray and Elsie Hiebert of Galva, and Evelyn Sidener and James Olberding of Burns.
