Staff writer
The Peabody-Burns Warriors took on the Remington Broncos Feb. 5 in a league match-up. The Warriors lost to the Broncos in a physical, up-tempo game.
Grant Klingenberg opened the scoring for the Warriors from the free-throw line. The Broncos shot well from the outside, but the Warriors hung tough on defense and ended the first quarter behind by only four, 15-19.
The second quarter was a little tougher for the PBHS team and they missed some key shots and free-throws. Both teams were in the bonus early in the quarter. The Warriors went to the locker room down 27-36.
Rough play with several fouls brought a time out with a little over four minutes to go in the third quarter. The Broncos had built a 47-33 lead. The press picked up for the Warriors with quick steals by Caleb Good and Grant Klingenberg. The third quarter ended 45-55.
Tommy Phillips had a scoring surge in the fourth with quick hands and feet. But the Warriors couldn't get closer than nine points.
Free-throws were recorded by five Warriors adding up to 20 of the 68 point total. The Warriors lost to the Broncos 80-68.
