Block beautification contest is back
Neighborhood Block Beautification Contest has begun
It is that time of year again for the Neighborhood Block Beautification contest.
Three anonymous judges will be driving around the community and ranking each neighborhood on the following criteria.
1. Grass mowed, trimmed, clean and neat appearance to the property.
2. Bushes, trees trimmed.
3. No appliances, junk, debris on the property
4. Clean curbs and gutters
5. No nuisance conditions on the property
6. OR - most improved in all of the above categories
There will be two rounds of judging: July 29-31 and Aug. 29-31 with the combined judging of both rounds resulting in first, second, and third place blocks.
This year there will be one large block appreciation barbecue Sept. 9 (location to be announced at a later date) for the first, second, and third place winning blocks.
First place winners will receive $25 in Peabody Bucks per household and an invitation to the block appreciation barbecue. Second place is $10 in Peabody Bucks per household and an invitation to the block appreciation barbecue. Third place is an invitation to the block appreciation barbecue.
