Bill Williamses attend reunion

Bill and Margie Williams went to Arkansas Aug. 27 and spent the night with Margie's sister, Thelma Thigpen, in Little Rock. On the 28th, all went to El Dorado, Ark., to visit another sister, Julia Reddin. The next day Bill visited his sisters, Lola Smith, and Mary and Sylvia Ann Williams of Harrell, Ark.

On the 30th, Bill, Margie, Julia, and Thelma attended a Thompson-Parker family reunion. They saw a great number of people they hadn't seen in quite a few years.

Margie got to visit with one of the women with whom she played basketball and softball. The woman had moved away before high school graduation and it been at least 60 years since they had seen each other. They enjoyed recalling old times.

Bill and Margie spent the 31st in Little Rock and returned home Sept. 1. They were pleased to have gotten rain in their absence.

Ladies Aid met Thursday for an all day workday. Those present were Denise Lang, Patty Mitchell, Margaret Morgan, and Bev Morgan. Ladies Aid will meet again next Thursday for an all day workday.

We are happy to report Bennie Holtsclaw is home from the hospital. We wish him a very speedy recovery.

Bev Reynolds spent the weekend with her aunt, Opal Frederick in Hutchinson.

Julia Smith worked Friday night at the football game in Cottonwood Falls.

Johnny and Jaimie Lang spent Labor Day at Florence. The County Line 4-H entered a float. Denise Lang, Johnny and Jaimie helped with it.

Pastor Clint Stopple's message Sunday morning was taken from II Corinthians 2:6-11, 21 and Romans 12:3, "How can we learn to live according to God's word?"

Friday supper guests of Bill and Margie Williams were their grandchildren, Elliot and Samantha Soyez of Florence. Samantha also was a Saturday afternoon visitor. She and her grandparents had supper at Town and Country Saturday evening.

Hazel Clothier and her daughter Teresa Hill went on a bus trip to Colorado. They went on a train ride and went rafting. They report seeing all kinds of scenery. Hazel said they had a great time.

Hazel's Saturday overnight guest were her grandchildren, Nellie, Heath, and Cassidy Hill of Marion. They all went to Cassoday Sunday to see the motorcycles. They said there were a large number of them. Later, they joined Teresa and Kevin Hill at the Chuck Wagon in Florence for lunch and the children returned home with their parents.
