Bike event is Saturday at reservoir

Bike Marion County, a series of benefit bicycle rides, kicks off Saturday at Marion Reservoir.

All funds go to Communities in Schools of Marion County, an organization that coordinates local resources to help young people learn, stay in school, and prepare for life.

Fees are $40 for adults, $20 for riders younger than 14 (must be accompanied by an adult) or $120 per five-member team. A completed registration form is required to participate.

Fifty- and 35-mile rides begin at 7:30 a.m. Ten-mile rides start at 10:30 a.m. All rides begin and end at Cottonwood Point, Marion Reservoir.

A barbecue lunch and entertainment will be provided from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
