Bernice Amerine
Bernice Irene Amerine, 87, of Syracuse, died July 26, 2005.
Born June 16, 1918, in Marion County, she was the daughter of Elmer and Mildred (Rockhold) Spiker.
She attended school in Burns, graduating in 1936, then attended beauty school in Wichita, graduating in 1938.
In 1964, she married Frank Amerine. She was a hairdresser and owned and operated the Amerine Furniture Store in Syracuse.
She was a member of Burns United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Chester Spiker.
Survivors include a brother, Lloyd Spiker of Omaha, Neb.; sister, Louise Hatcher of Syracuse; and many other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday morning at First United Methodist Church, Syracuse. Burial was in Syracuse Cemetery.
Memorial funds have been established with Hamilton County Hospital or Hamilton County Extended Care Facility.
