Benefit to be held for Katy Woodruff
A benefit chili feed will be held Jan. 20 at the Methodist Education Center in Westmoreland with proceeds going into a fund for four-year-old Katy Woodruff.
Katy is the daughter of Stuart and Tracy Woodruff, and the granddaughter of Frank and Janice Woodruff of Peabody.
The church is located on Main Street in Westmoreland and the chili feed will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
When Katy was two years old she was diagnosed with leukemia and underwent a series of treatments which put the disease into remission.
Recently, it was discovered that the leukemia had returned. Katy faces a year and a half of weekly chemotherapy treatments in Kansas City. Funds raised at the chili feed will help Katy's parents offset the cost of the weekly trips for her treatment.
Donations also may be sent to the Katy Woodruff Benefit Fund, c/o Farmer's State Bank, Westmoreland KS 66549 or to the Peabody Christian Church, Division and Sycamore, Peabody KS 66866.
