Arthur Malacky
Arthur Malacky, 89, of Yellville, Ark., died May 10, 2003, at Marion County Nursing Home, Yellville.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Layton Cemetery, Yellville, with Tom Bryant officiating.
Born July 3, 1913, at Peabody, he was the son of Edward and Amelia (Kirste) Malacky.
He graduated from Peabody High School in 1932 and from Kansas State University in 1937 with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
A member of Kansas State University ROTC, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired as a major. He married AnnaBel Berry.
He was a retired civil engineer for Boeing Aircraft.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, Otto and Edward; and two sisters, Elsie and Clara.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Dick Wendel of Yellville, Ark.; two sisters, Gertrude "Bobby" McIntosh of Los Angeles, Calif., and Lilliam M. Paul of Peabody; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established with Marion County Nursing Home Auxiliary, Yellville, Ark.
