Art in the Park is Saturday in Marion
Marion will be a busy place Saturday during the 26th annual Art in the Park and Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in Central Park.
There is no admission charge.
Approximately 240 vendors — with at least one coming from as far away as Florida — will offer a variety of items at this year's event, according to Margo Yates, executive director of Marion Chamber of Commerce.
Some of the items which will be for sale include barbed wire art, tie dye clothing, alpaca fiber products, antler art, limestone and metal art, soaps, candles, baskets, clothing, jewelry, photography, cedar flutes, bamboo panpipes, lighted glass blocks, and much more.
Besides the art and crafts, live entertainment this year will be "Michael's Variety Music Show," starring Michael Harber. His repertoire ranges from the "golden oldies" to the mid-1990s.
A large food court will be available offering a plethora of delectable choices. Some of the foods will include brisket sandwiches, funnel cakes, bierocks, baked potato bar, hamburgers, polish sausage, roasted pork sandwiches, roasted corn, hot dogs, chili dogs, carmel apple slices, Santa Fe chicken wraps, ribs, smoked turkey legs, Reuben sandwiches, Philly steak sandwiches, homemade cinnamon rolls, sloppy joes, lemonade, limeade, pop, water, and more
Marion Chamber of Commerce Art in the Park committee will give away 10 $20 certificates at 4 p.m. They may be used at any booth before the close of the show.
A free shuttle bus service will run for customers' convenience during the day. Buses will be departing for Central Park every 15 minutes. Visitors can park at two locations on the west or east edge of town and ride the bus to Central Park. On the west edge, buses will depart from Marion Die and Fixture, 421 W. Main.
