Andy Shank
Andy R. Shank, 76, died Feb. 13, 2004, at Peabody.
Born Feb. 22, 1927, near Peabody, he was the son of Andy and Emma (Workman) Shank.
He worked for the Rock Island and Santa Fe Railroads for 27 years and for Bradbury Company of Moundridge for 15 years before his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Army with the 140th Tank Battalion, 40th Infantry Division, during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virginia (Branham) Shank; and a grandson, Mike Sattler.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Carol Reynolds of Peabody; three daughters and sons-in-law, Andra and Stephen Kessner of Fort Wayne, Ind., Glenna and Edward Sattler of Peabody, and Jeanne and Edward Pierce of Augusta; a sister, Betty Coleman of Redwood City, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Baker Funeral Home, Peabody, with Pastor Jim Pohlman officiating.
Burial was in Prairie Lawn Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established for Peabody Park playground equipment.
