Andrea Jones qualifies for state championships
Andrea Jones, Peabody-Burns senior was a medal winner March 5 at the Heart of America League forensics tournament hosted by Remington High School.
Jones placed second in prose interpretation, qualifying for the State Forensic Championships in May.
Other PBHS students who placed in the contest are Robbie McVey and Michael Unruh, 8th place in improvised duet acting; Sandra McLeod and Mariam Vashakidze, 8th in duet acting; Mariam Vashakidze, 9th in serious solo acting, and Andrea Jones and Dalli Jo Hammond, 11th in imrovised duet acting.
Sara Sayers, Jeconiah Spangler, Adam Jones, Justin Mayfield, Mike Cullinane, Stephanie Oaks, Frankie Stevenson, Charity Gwinup, and Marissa Phillips also are members of the PBHS forensics group and participated at the tournament.
Judges were Julia Ensminger and Doe Ann Hague.
The group will compete Saturday at Herington.
