Andrea Jones heads for overseas mission assignment

A Peabody youth left this past week to undergo several weeks of training in the international mission field.

Andrea Jones was among six students chosen from all over the United States for the special mission. She will train for several weeks in Oxnard, Calif., then may be sent to work in the mission fields of Mexico for a few weeks.

Early in the fall, she expects to go to Uzbekistan for a mission assignment which may take up to two years. The American students will enroll in the International University there and work toward completing their education.

Jones is a 2002 graduate of Peabody-Burns High School. She attended junior college in Iola for a semester and then spent a semester attending classes in a seminary in Austin, Texas.

She is the daughter of Luke Jones of Peabody and Koni Jones of Wichita, and the granddaughter of Bill and Shirley Krause of Peabody.
