Amy Bayes elected to state library position
Amy Bayes of rural Peabody has been elected president of the Kansas Library Association's school and children's section.
Her duties will be to represent school and children's librarians at the Kansas State Legislature, to be an advocate for libraries and the services they offer, to help children's libraries in any way necessary, and to plan the children's section of the Tri-State Conference.
Bayes was elected to the position during a recent state conference where she was a speaker.
Bayes is the head children's librarian at Newton Public Library. She and her husband, Kelly, reside in rural Peabody with their three young children.
A 1991 graduate of Peabody High School, Bayes is the daughter of Marylou Grosse Hoberecht and the late Tom Grosse.
