Ammeter: Weather just right for a wiener roast

My, haven't we had lovely weather? Every evening I think of how nice it would be for a wiener roast.

Melody Magette left Wednesday morning for Dodge City. Marie Clark visited LaVonne and Melody early Wednesday morning.

Ladies Aid met Wednesday afternoon at LaVonne's. Maude Gaines, Sherry Nightengale, and Dorene Kirkpatrick attended.

Maude Gaines visited Ike and Marie Clark Sunday afternoon.

LaVonne and Maude ate lunch Friday at Peabody Senior Center. They went on to Marion to do some shopping in the afternoon.

We had church Sunday at Summit. Gary Davis visited LaVonne Sunday after church and got some moss rose and petunias to plant.

Myron and Sally Ammeter of Grand Island, Neb., arrived Sunday morning at the Ammeter farm and were dinner guests. Stan Ammeter also was a dinner guest. Myron and Sally left late in the afternoon and went to Opal Craney's to spend the night.

Jack Clark visited LaVonne Monday morning.

Matthew Watts and Seyan Harms of Oklahoma City, Okla., arrived Tuesday morning at LaVonne's to visit and eat lunch with her. They are getting married in August. I did so enjoy them. They left in the afternoon for Agency, Mo., to visit Matt's folks, Rose and George Watts.

Stan Ammeter was a Tuesday supper guest of LaVonne and later in the evening, Blaine Ammeter of Ellinwood arrived to spend the night and Wednesday.

June 15-21

Carol Ammeter of Ellinwood arrived late Friday morning at the Ammeter farm and picked up LaVonne. They picked up Opal Craney and headed back to Ellinwood to get Blaine and they all took out for Grand Island, Neb., to the home of Myron and Sally Ammeter so they could attend their 40th wedding anniversary celebration.

Saturday morning, Steve and Melody Magette of Dodge City, Kevin, Emily, and Avery Hapton of Ellsworth, and B.J. and Jodi Ammeter and Crystal and Adam Maggette of Overland Park arrived. Chad and Angela Bunger and Mitchell and Robert and Christy Ammeter, Samantha, Alyson, and Jacob of Simpsonville, S.C., and Doug and Amy Drake of Maple Grove, Mich., were already there. Carolyn Holm and Jack Metz of Wichita, Rose Watts of Agency, Mo., and Katie Watts of Jefferson City, Mo., also joined the family.

More than 100 others joined the family for a light lunch and lots of visiting. It was a lovely celebration and two great-grandmothers, Opal and LaVonne, had a great time.

Sunday dinner guests of Myron and Sally were Rob and Christi, Samantha, Alyson, and Jacob, Chad, Angela, and Mitchell, Amy and Doug, Blaine and Carol, LaVonne and Opal, Melody and Stan, Kevin, Emily, and Avery, B.J. and Jodi, Adam and Crystal. Late afternoon, everyone returned home but Myron and Sally's children, Opal, LaVonne, Carol, and Melody. They returned to Kansas Monday afternoon. Wow! What a weekend.

Melody Magette brought LaVonne home late Monday evening and stayed Monday and Tuesday nights. They were busy getting out the invitations to the Clark reunion July 16.

Ike and Marie Clark visited Maude Gaines Monday afternoon.

LaVonne visited Ike and Marie Clark Friday morning.

Ladies Aid met at LaVonne's Wednesday afternoon. Quilters were Dorene Kirkpatrick, Maude Gaines, and LaVonne.

Michele, Dylan, and Eric Boese visited LaVonne Thursday evening.

Kerri, Kenton, and Taryn visited LaVonne late Thursday afternoon.

Maude Gaines, LaVonne, and Melody were in Marion on business and shopping Tuesday morning. Don Gillet was an afternoon visitor.

Josh Clark and Stan Ammeter were Tuesday morning visitors of LaVonne and Melody.
